We know that parents, students, and other members of our community rely upon FCPS for a wide range of information. This website is an essential tool for providing that information in a clear, accessible, and user-friendly format.

We recognize that our previous website was not meeting your needs. Extensive community feedback made it clear that an improved online experience was necessary. We listened, and as a result, this important work was acknowledged in our strategic plan, Ignite.

Our new website has been built with you in mind. Perhaps its most significant feature is that it is mobile responsive—it delivers an optimal user experience for those who access our information from a mobile device, which most of our visitors do. With improved search functionality, the content is now easier to find, and it’s been organized in a more logical manner.

Updating our website also gave us the opportunity to reimagine the FCPS logo. The former FCPS logo was well known, but that visual identifier had not been examined in 40 years. The new logo reflects who we are now and who we aspire to be in the years to come. And, the tagline reflects our commitment to engage and inspire each member of our community so that everyone thrives—especially our children. 

You’ll notice our new logo throughout our website, but its full offline implementation may take several years. To be fiscally and environmentally responsible, we have asked all employees to continue using business cards, stationery, spirit wear, uniforms, and other items featuring the old logo until their inventory is exhausted or is no longer viable. The new logo is only to be used when ordering replacements or new items.
